A workshop of creativity and imagination by a designer

Brief CV
Effie Smiri
I was born in Thessaloniki in 1978. In 2009 I completed my studies at the Department of Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, but my artistic mood and concern turned to the design and manufacture of handmade jewellery. I attended jewellery making classes with specialised silversmithing techniques, classic (Art Nouveau) and wire (Filigree), jewellery design and micro-sculpture in wax-original models, in the certified by EOPEPP KDBM1 "By Creativity". In 2014 I was awarded the 2nd prize in jewellery design at the 2nd construction competition of KDBM 1 "By Creativity" in the annual student exhibition on ‘Byzantium-Siege of Senses’.
Jewellery inspiration
My source of inspiration is the ancient Greek culture adapted to modern times and combined with various materials, such as tiles, semi-precious stones, leather and wood. Since 2013 I have created my own special space-workshop where I make my own collections under the name ‘Effie Smiri Jewellery Art Designer’.
My Workshop
My jewellery is made with passion and a lot of personal work. Every piece of jewellery requires hours of work and advance planning. My workshop is a place of creation, which I often share with friends and relatives, who give their ideas and love.
